Hair Transplant Grafts
So what is exactly is a hair transplant graft? A hair transplant graft is basically a graft of hair(s) that ranges from one to four hairs (hairs grow naturally as a single hair or a cluster of 2-4 hairs).
When a strip of hairs is removed from the donor area as part of the strip surgery process, the strip is divided into individual hair grafts. The hair grafts are usually cut into single hairs or clusters of 2-4 hairs, depending on the needs of the patient.
Single hairs typically grow in the hairline, while the clusters tend to grow more towards the back portion of the head on the top and in the crown area.
A highly skilled hair transplant surgeon will now exactly which hair transplant grafts should go where and how to angle them to compliment your existing hair density and compliment your facial structure to provide a natural looking hair transplant result.
The following photo provides an example of a hair transplant graft. The hair transplant grafts are packed in ice while they are waiting to be transplanted to keep them preserved.
