The following series of videos provides prospective hair transplant patients with a great opportunity to view the entire process of a hair transplant. In this condensed version of a 7 hour long surgery, viewers will have the ability to view a hair transplant, accompanied with commentary by Dr. Wong, who walks viewers through each step of the surgery.

As the first video begins, Dr. Wong provides an overview and hair replacement assessment of hair transplant patient Joe Tillman (aka jotronic), who is also a hair transplant consultant for Hasson and Wong. Joe’s incredible hair transplant journey began years ago when a few of his original surgeries left him scarred and with less than satisfactory hair transplant results. To read more about Joe’s incredible hair transplant journey and how Hasson and Wong provided him with a new lease on life, click here.

As the video continues, Dr. Wong captures Joe during the prepping stage of surgery which includes the washing of his hair and shaving of the area in the back of the head (the donor area). As the video moves along, Dr. Wong preps the donor area (the area in which the hair supply is removed) by outlining the area in which the hair transplant strip is removed and shaving the area so that a clear visual is provided when removing the strip.

Dr. Wong then proceeds by injecting a local anesthetic into the strip area. While doing this, you will notice that Dr. Wong uses a vibrating object while he is injecting the anesthetic. The vibration is meant to confuse the mind and draw the mind away from the sting of the needle. As a former patient myself, I can attest that it truly does work!

Once the donor area is completely numb, Dr. Wong removes the strip form the back of Joe’s head. As this part of the surgery may be difficult for some to watch, filming of the strip removal was omitted. To see what a hair transplant strip looks like after removal, click here. Dr. Wong then proceeds to close the donor with the use of surgical staples.

The hair transplant grafts are then sent to the technicians to be prepped for the transplant. The hair transplant technicians divide the hairs into natural clusters of 1-4 hairs (depending on what is required for the particular surgery). The grafts can be seen at 7:11 into the video.

Dr. Wong then proceeds with making the incisions where the hair transplant grafts will be placed. You will notice that Dr. Wong is making injections into Joe’s head at the same time he is creating the graft sites. Dr. Wong is injecting saline into Joe’s head (which the body will naturally dispose of) to expand the head so that the finite incisions can be made in between follicles.

The incisions conclude the first video.

In the second video, Dr. Wong continues with inserting the hair transplant grafts into the crown area and with left over grafts, he provides the hair transplant patient with additional grafts in the temple area.

The final video in this series concludes the hair transplant surgery with commentary by Dr. Wong providing an explanation and overview of why the hair transplant grafts were placed where they were in the temple area and the crown area. The hair transplant technicians also continue to plant the hair transplant grafts to conclude the surgery.

We hope you have enjoyed this incredible video series brought to you by Hair Transplant Insider with special thanks given to Hasson and Wong for allowing us to present these videos.
