I wanted to communicate my hair restoration story for the benefit of anyone who may be thinking of having a hair transplant.

I am a thirty three year old police officer. I started losing my hair when I was in my twenties. Initially it was not so noticeable but eventually I lost most of the hair on top of my head. I tried to tell myself that it did not bother me that much and I pretty much just shaved my head all of the time and I sported a beard most of the time. It wasn’t a look that I loved and I felt that it actually made me look alot older than I am. I don’t think of myself as a vain person but, I felt it was really taking away from my looks and more importantly my confidence.

I had thought about a hair transplant and I did some online research but the truth is that I wasn’t sure where to start and who to trust. Although I am a bit shy, I happened to mention my ideas about a hair transplant to a buddy (“D”) on the force. He is good guy who had gotten divorced about two years back. He ended up with custody of his two kids and I knew he had gone through some tough times. We became pretty close during this time. I noticed that over the last year he really looked great. I knew he was working out a lot and he even had grown his hair long and changed the color from a dirty blonde to more of a brunette color. He used to just wear his hair shaved down a lot like my own style. When I mentioned this thing about hair transplants, he got a little quiet and then said that he had done it himself! I could not believe it! He looked great. I could not tell that he had any work done at all. When I looked closely, I really could not tell that he had a transplant! He pulled out his driver’s license and showed me his picture from five years back. It was then that I remembered his look; almost no hair at the front and a little hair towards his crown. D told me that he had Dr. Ferreira at Sure Hair International do the work and that he was really nice and very professional. He also said that Dr. Ferreira had recommended a medical regimen to help him hold onto the hair that was there prior to the transplant, and that his crown area was filling in nicely as a result.

I booked an appointment with Dr. Ferreira. He spent a lot of time with me explaining how hair transplants work and what are the pros and cons. He went over what were “reasonable” expectations and what to expect after surgery. He even calls all of his patients after surgery to check up on them. I then told him that D confessed he had done work with him and Dr. Ferreira pulled up his before and after pictures. What change! The truth is I was pretty much sold before I even saw Dr. Ferreira but, when I met him I knew why D was so happy. He just has a way of putting people at ease.

My surgery went great. Very little pain and Dr. Ferreira’s staff are fantastic. It’s obvious that Dr. Ferreira loves his job and he does it well. I was warned that it would be a long day and it was but well worth it. I got about 3000 grafts and the day ended around 730pm. As promised, Dr. Ferreira called me for three nights to check up on me and review the post op instructions. No problems- it went just as Dr. Ferreira explained. I did not take any pain medications after two days and I felt fine.

I am really happy with the results and I also let my hair grow in. I love the look. My parents and girlfriend tell me I look great and I even find it hard to believe what I looked like before. The other police officers asked why I used to shave my head when I have such a nice head of hair! I shaved off the beard and I lost a few pounds as well. Dr. Ferreira also recommended a medical treatment regimen for me. It seemed to slow down the hair loss of my pre-existing hair.

I wanted to say thanks to Dr. Ferreira at Sure Hair International and to his staff. I was treated with a lot of respect and I feel Dr. Ferreira was a real professional. He was true to his word and under promised and over delivered.
